Markus Terms of Service


For the purposes of this Terms of Service:

  • Account means a unique account created for You to access our Service or parts of our Service.
  • Affiliate means an entity that controls, is controlled by or is under common control with a party, where "control" means ownership of 50% or more of the shares, equity interest or other securities entitled to vote for election of directors or other managing authority.
  • Application means the software program provided by the Company downloaded by You on any electronic device, named Markus
  • Company (referred to as either "the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our" in this Agreement) refers to STSP LLC, 9 Galen Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
  • Country refers to: United States
  • Device means any device that can access the Service such as a computer, a cellphone or a tablet.
  • Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
  • SAML means Security Assertion Markup Language 2.0
  • Service refers to the Application.
  • Service Provider means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Company. It refers to third-party companies or individuals employed by the Company to facilitate the Service, to provide the Service on behalf of the Company, to perform services related to the Service or to assist the Company in analyzing how the Service is used.
  • SSO means single sign-on in the context of using an external provider such as Google for authentication to the Application
  • Terms means these Terms of Service
  • Usage Data refers to data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).
  • Users refers to those accessing the Service
  • You/Your refers to an individual using the Service


STSP LLC (“the Company”), doing business as Markus (“Application” or “App”) is committed to providing a unique collaboration tool to users of its Service. These Terms describe Your legal rights and responsibilities when using the Application.

When You sign up for an account, purchase premium features, or accept an invitation to use the Service from another User, You are agreeing to these Terms. 

By accessing the Services, You acknowledge that You have read these Terms carefully and further agree to be bound by these Terms and the Company’s Privacy Policy, which are hereby incorporated and made a part of these terms.

Acceptable Use

To access the Services, You must register for an account by providing User sign-on information including a valid email address.

You are responsible for all login credentials including your given email address. The Company shall not be liable for any damages or losses that may occur as a result of your failure.

All Users must agree not to access, tamper or use non-public areas of the Services, including the Company’s computer systems, probe or scan for vulnerabilities in the Company’s network, attempt to disrupt the Service or Company’s network, or interfere with the access of any other User by sending any virus, spam, malware or any such content which could damage or disrupt another User.

The Services are not intended to be used by Minors.

Objectionable Content and Abusive Behavior

Markus is a personal collaboration tool. It is intended to be used by close knit groups including families, friends, and colleagues. Markus is not to be used in any way to broadcast objectionable content. 

- Objectionable content includes but is not limited to, 
- Abuse or harassment of any person or organization
- Content encouraging others to participate in any illegal activity
- Use of derogatory, discriminatory or graphic language
- False or misleading information

The Markus team has the right to remove any such content that we determine in our sole discretion to be Objectionable. The Markus team also has the right to revoke membership and close the account of any Abusive User.

An abusive user is one who,

- Uses Markus to bully, belittle, harass, or otherwise socially and emotionally abuse one or more other users
- Uses derogatory language against another user
- Posts fraudulent or intentionally misleading messages

By logging in to Markus, you explicitly agree to the terms regarding Objectionable Content above in addition to all other Terms of Service.

Objectionable content or abusive behavior can be reported to or via the feedback section in the Settings menu within the app. The Markus team will respond within 24 hours. 


Users may create, process, upload, submit, store, send and receive content in connection with Acceptable Use of the Services. The User retains all ownership and intellectual property rights to content uploaded to the Service. The Company is not responsible for how a User chooses to use the Service to process content.

You, as a User, hereby grant to the Company, a limited, non-exclusive license to access, use, copy, reproduce, process, distribute, publish, export and display the content as reasonably necessary to maintain the Service, manage the security procedures of the Service, and to comply with laws and regulations.

Integrations with Service Providers

In order to provide additional functionality to Users, the Company provides integrated access to the Third Party Providers. Your use of services provided by Third Party Providers, whether through the Service or otherwise, is solely between You and the provider of such Third Party Services.


These Terms remain in full force and effect until You choose to cancel your subscription or access has been terminated by the Company. Upon cancellation, the Company may deactivate the User’s account. 

Responsibilities of the Company

  • The Company will be responsible for providing the Service to Users.
  • As per the Company’s Privacy Policy, the Company will protect User content.

Company Intellectual Property

The Company owns all intellectual property rights in and to the Service (excluding only User Content) and all trademarks, logos and service marks utilized by the Company in connection with providing the Service. 

Limitation of Liability

Neither Party (User or the Company) will have any liability to the other for any lost content or incidental damages, however caused.
